4th Nine Weeks Hispanic Recipe ProjectsUse SHIFT+ENTER to open the menu (new window).
5/8/2012 10:28 AM
Hola Spanish I and Spanish II students,

You all have 4th Nine Weeks projects that have to do with FOOD from Spanish-speaking countries - yum!

For Spanish I students, you are going to make a travel brochure about a Spanish-speaking country as well as research a recipe from that country. As a "grand finale" to the school year and this project, you are going to actually make your recipe and share it with the class during our fiesta on Wednesday, May 23rd. Please see the attached PDF document for further instructions and remember when you are signed up to present your project to the class.

For Spanish II students, you are going to research a recipe from a Spanish-speaking country and then present a Cooking Show to the class in Spanish (either as a skit or as a video) showing us how you prepare your dish. As a way to get a "taste" of each country's culinary traditions, please plan to make your recipe and bring it to class for our fiesta on Wednesday, May 23rd. Please see the attached PDF document for further instructions and remember when you are signed up to present your project to the class.

I'm looking forward to seeing - and tasting - everyone's 4th Nine Weeks projects!

Hola estudiantes!

I will be a chaperone with the 8th grade students who are going to Washington, D.C./New York during the first week of May. Whether you are going on the trip or not, EVERY student of mine must complete a packet.

If you are attending school the week of April 30th - May 4th, Mrs. Buenrostro will give you your packet if you have not signed one out already. Students going on the New York trip already received their packets a few weeks ago.

If you happen to lose your packet, please print off a copy using the appropriate PDF document that is attached to this announcement.

Packets are DUE on Monday, May 7th. Please let me know if you have any questions! :-)

Hasta pronto,
Sra. Scheer

Spanish II "Board Game" Project!Use SHIFT+ENTER to open the menu (new window).
3/2/2012 1:07 PM

For the 3rd Nine Weeks project, you are going to create your own “juego de mesa” (board game) in Spanish! You may work individually or you may work in groups of up to three students. You must come up with a game that can be played with multiple players and that reviews any information we have covered in Chapters 1-5 of your Exprésate text book as well as any cultural topics we have discussed. Later on this spring, we will use our games to help us review for the final exam!

Please see the attached PDF document for all of the details and the grading rubric.

This project is DUE on Thursday, March 15th - it will count as 5% of your overall Nine Weeks grade. Please see Mrs. Scheer with any questions or concerns. I'm looking forward to seeing what you all come up with!
